|Behind the scenes information|
Karlos is a Koala who was first seen in the second installment of the Ty series and he is the Uncle of Julius. He is 102 years old according to the offical site. He has become increasingly antagonistic towards Ty as of Ty 3, lending credance to the theory he may eventually fight Ty personally.
It is unknown when and how Karlos became so corrupted. A possibility is when Julius outshined his intelligence when he was only 12 years old. Either way, he began to use his great intellect for evil, though despite his genius he lacks the ability to make a functional hover chair. In the second game he worked for Cass to create the mammalian manipulation machine, hence creating the Uber reptiles. He did not have much involvement in the plot beyond this,
In the third game he remained hidden away in one of his numerous underground bases as the Quinkan ravaged the world above him. Sometime between the two games, he hired Tabi the Feral Cat to serve as his assistant.
He enslaved Julius in Ty's absence, depriving the Bush Rescue of their technology expert. Ty made Karlos promise to let Julius go if he won a match in Karlos' battle arena; when Ty won, Karlos said he had technically promised to consider letting Julius go, and as such, said he'd considered it and didn't feel like it. Shazza, however, broke Julius out while Karlos was distracted.
Two more times Ty had to compete in his battle arenas, each one increasingly more lethal than the previous, so as to win an object Karlos possessed. The second time around, Karlos stated he was learning more about Ty each time he visited, implying he was using the Battle Arenas to study Ty's techniques and thus, defeat him.
Near the end, he is seen examining Fluffy's tail with his minions, and noticing that it is still alive, has one of his minions take it away. Presumably Karlos used his technology to regenerate Fluffy from her remains, as she appears in Boomerang Blast.
- Karlos never had an explained ending, meaning no one knows what happened to him after Ty 3 ended. If a 4th Ty game comes out, it is very likely Karlos will be in it as a main villain.
- A running gag with Karlos is that his hoverchair is broken, resulting in him humorously crashing or going off to the side when he's trying to get close to Ty to intimidate him.
- In Ty 3, it can be seen that Karlos was trying to hit Ty with his hoverchair.
