A Golden Cog is a gold tiller-shaped item from Ty the Tasmanian Tiger. With 10 scattered in each level, Ty can collect them and bring them back to Julius in his lab at Rainbow Cliffs, where he can then give him a new Technorangs in exchange for 15 Golden Cogs.
A similar collectible known as the Platinum Cog appears in Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue. Scattered around the Southern Rivers, in the original console releases, Platinum Cogs only gave bonus opals. In the remastered HD version, however, they can now be used at Trader Bob's General Store to buy skins for Ty, as well as Shazza's Fourbie.
