Opals are the most common collectible items, found nearly everywhere in the Outback. Beginning in Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, Opals were merely part of the collection; each level has exactly 300, and after collecting them all, they can be turned in at an Opal Machine for a Thunder Egg. In Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue and Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 3: Night of the Quinkan, Opals much more common, are used as currency, used to purchase other items, including boomerangs, Bunyip keys, extra paws, and entry into cart races. In Ty The Tasmanian Tiger, Opals appear in different colors, such as red, blue, and green whereas in Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2 and Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 3 the Opals only appear in red.

History[]

Not much is known about the history of Opals, only that they are found almost everywhere, and can be collected and used to purchase other items.
