Shade is Shadow's daughter. She is half ghost bat and half flying fox.
She is seen in Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 3, standing around in Cassopolis. Unlike Shadow, she has a polite, kind demeanor, and usually offers apologies for Shadow's behavior in the past, and offers to help make it up to Ty.
She is also seen in Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2 (GBA), having lost her Data Nut at South Beach.

- Shade has a half-sister named Ginger, who is not seen or mentioned in any of the games - she was set to appear in the cancelled TY the Tasmanian Tiger 4: Gunyip! [1][2] It was confirmed by Steve Stamatiadis that Ginger shares the same father with Shade [3].
- Shade was put into the games to replace the less attractive Shadow, who "wasn't cute enough".
- Assuming Shadow had the gestation period of a human, with the facts that she is 27 and Shade is 18, would mean that Shadow birthed Shade at the age of 9.
